Location

 

Łochowo is a village located in Pomeranian province, in Bydgoszcz county, in Białe Błota borough, west of Bydgoszcz, by the road to Nakło. It is a place of the strongest urbanization processes in that borough. Its population increased from 1 915 in 2004 to 3 394 in 2011 and currently it accounts for 20 % of the total population of the borough.
Białe Błota borough is situated in the central part of Pomeranian province, in the southwestern part of Bydgoszcz county, in an area called ‘Pradolina toruńsko – eberswaldzka’. Eastern and central part of the borough lies on the edge of Bydgoszcz forest. International roads and railway: Gdańsk - Bydgoszcz - Poznań and Toruń - Bydgoszcz – Szczecin run through this region and the river Noteć flow here. Apart from that, it is needless to say that railway lines Bydgoszcz – Węgrowiec- Poznań and Bydgoszcz – Inowrocław are really important for economic development. Białe Błota borough borders on:

from the north with Bydgoszcz and Siecienko
from the east with Nowa Wieś Wielka
from the south with Łabniszyn and Szubin
ffrom the west with Nakło nad Notecią

The residence of the local authorities is in Białe Błota, located 3 kilometers from the borders of Bydgoszcz city. The immediate neighbourhood of a big city affects its dynamic growth in social, economic, and demographic spheres, making it unique in these aspects in Kujawsko-Pomorskie province. The total surface of  the administrartive area is 122,1 square kms, including 65,5 square kms of Białe Błota. The area is inhabited by the total of 17186 residents (data from 2011) It includes 11 towns: Białe Błota, Ciele, Kruszyn Krajeński, Lisi Ogon, Łochowo, Łochowice, Murowaniec, Przyłęki, Prądki, Trzciniec, Zielonkę and 11 villages.
